Ski Touring First Time
Destination : Queyras, France
The border mountain massif of the Southern Alps is a place where authenticity and tourism have been able to meet while respecting landscapes and its inhabitants. It also has a very special geographical situation. Indeed, this is where the famous *'retour d'est' pours out, which can offer incredible amounts of snow for our greatest pleasure. And when you have tasted it once, it is rarely the last time. The Queyras quickly calls one back!
Objective:
To have fun in total safety. Initiate yourself to the joys of ski and split-board touring and browse the off-pistes from the ski lifts above the powder fields and the Larch forests.
What is ski touring?
Touring is done off-piste and outside of ski resorts. We use ski touring / splitboard equipment, to cilmb up the mountain without using ski lifts.
* A 'retour d'est' is something of a mythical and iconic phenomenon. According to the tradition: up to 2

PROGRAM :
We will start our trip at the Maison Gaudissard and spend a night at a refuge.
- Monday : We will start the morning with a breif equipment review. After, I will spend time checking your technique and offering guidance and tips.
Afternoon: Skiing in and off-pistes of the Molines-Saint-Véran.
Exercises about avalanche rescue.
Map reading. - Tuesday, Wednesday: Off-Piste Discovery. We will explore and do small tours around the the areas of Abriès, and Aiguilles.
- Thursday : Ski or splitboard tour to the Mountain Refuge and spend the night there.
- Friday: Climb to the Caramantran peak (3025m), descending to Molines-Saint-Véran.
Participants: 1 to 5 people.
Minimum level required:
You have taken your first steps in off-piste skiing / snowboarding or are very comfortable on red-black tracks and different qualities of snow. Let me know your ski / snowboard level in order for me to determine the possibility of facilitating a trip that suits everyones level. Consult me for details.

Food and Accommodation:
Full board (breakfast, Picnic at Midday and dinner ) : 320 euros
5 days Supervision:
- 1-2 people: 350EUR/DAY.
- 3 people: 400EUR/DAY
- 4-5 people: 450EUR/DAY.

Ski pass:
130 ± EUR.
Insurance:
Make
sure with your insurance provider that you are covered for emergency
and rescue costs that include zones on and outside the ski areas for the
ski touring activities.
